I found this beautiful Oak tree in a hotel garden near Chester and instantly knew I needed to paint it, as the bark of the tree appeared a special shade of deep red in the low, early evening light.

This piece is an oil painting, created using traditional techniques and fine layers of transparent colour. The effect is deep rich colours, varied textures and lots of depth.

This is an oil painting on cradled wooden panel with the sides painted black so it is ready to hang without the need for a frame.

The painting measures 18 x 24 inches.
